Oops!... I Did It Again is the second studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. The album was released on May 16, 2000 by Jive Records, and opened at number one spot in the U.S, after selling over 1,319,193 units during its first week of sales. The album dominated the U.S. retail markets sales on May 16, where it sold over 500,000 copies in its first day in stores as according to a survey of retail outlets. This feat broke the previous SoundScan record for the highest album sales in its debut week by any solo artist, thus announcing Spears as the fastest selling female artist in the country. The album also contains Britney's first writing credit on one of her albums, for "Dear Diary". This was her second (and latest) album to received a diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album produced three hit singles: her third UK number-one single "Oops!...I Did It Again", "Lucky" and "Stronger". The album has sold over 20 million copies worldwide to date.
